One more succumbs Tuesday, 49 new positive cases

The lone person who succumbed to the deadly virus is from Ukhrul and he was not vaccinated at all.

Imphal: Manipur reported a single Covid related death, 49 new positive cases (48 from the general population and 1 from CAPF) while 40 persons recovered and were discharged in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Tuesday, as per an official release from the health department.

The lone person who succumbed to the deadly virus is from Ukhrul and he was not vaccinated at all. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1938.

Of the 48 persons who tested positive from the general population, 22 of them are from Imphal West, 18 from Imphal East, three from Tengnoupal, two each from Bishnupur and Ukhrul and one each Kakching and Thoubal.

Altogether, 2,172 persons were tested giving a positivity rate of 2.3 %.

Meanwhile, 40 persons recovered and were discharged, eight of them from home isolation, 19 from CCCs, 10 from JNIMS and three from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.87 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 24,186 out of which 1,21,541 have recovered leaving 707 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on November 8, 2021, is 9,839, the cumulative number of doses administered is 20,17,077 (1st dose 12,54,557, 2nd dose 7,62,520).
