Patna: Ridiculing JD(U) Parliamentary board chairman Upendra Kushwaha’s statement that JD(U) made BJP politically acceptable from untouchable status, the BJP alleged that Kushwaha who had been sidelined and became untouchable in the party was giving such statement in frustration.

The National General Secretary of BJP OBC Morcha and Bihar BJP Spokesperson Nikhil Anand said here on Sunday that the statement of Upendra Kushwaha expresses his frustration because in JD(U) these days he himself has been sidelined and made an untouchable. He said that Kushwaha had joined JD(U) with the aim to take over the command of the party after Nitish Kumar, but his status in the party slipped to fifth or sixth in the party hierarchy.

Anand suggested that Kushwaha introspect and realize his potential and added that in the list of socialists of Bihar, Kushwaha was a hundred times better representative of the ideological tradition of Lohia- Karpoori than leaders like Nitish Kumar and Lalan Singh.

Unfortunately, Nitish Kumar engineered the end of Kushwaha’s party RLSP and on the pretext of handing over the legacy to him, made a brilliant ideological person like Kushwaha stand behind Tejashwi as a spokesperson, added the BJP leader. Upendra Kushwaha repeatedly fell prey to Nitish Kumar’s bluff of cunning politics, he alleged.

Terming Nitish Kumar and Lalan Singh as the weakest links of the JP movement, Anand said that both Kumar and Singh have been the most non-committed socialists of Bihar. In the matter of fighting for socialist values, Nitish Kumar and Lalan Singh cannot equate themselves to the level of Upendra Kushwaha, he quipped.
