Agartala: Tripura Chief Secretary Kumar Alok and Director General of Police V S Yadav accompanied by the senior officials of the state government on Monday afternoon received the newly appointed Governor of Tripura Satyadev Narayan Arya at MBB Airport. Tripura police accorded him a guard of honour at the Raj Bhawan.
Governor Ramesh Bais, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and his other cabinet colleagues welcomed him in the Raj Bhawan. The outgoing Governor Bais who has been transferred to Jharkhand as Governor will leave the state on Tuesday. The state administration will formally accord him farewell in the morning at Raj Bhawan.
However, the swearing-in ceremony of 19th Governor of Tripura Satyadev Narayan Arya is expected to be on July 14 next, said Raj Bhawan officials, adding that the schedule would be announced after discussion with him in a day or two. He had recently been transferred from Haryana replacing Bais.
The 84 -yrs old Arya was a leader of BJP from Bihar. He is a former Minister of Mines and Geology of Bihar. He is an eight-time winning Member of Bihar Legislative Assembly from Rajgir constituency. He is a post-graduate and law graduate from Patna University.
