Imphal: Assam Rifles personnel seized one lakh banned WY Tablets worth about Rs 5 cr on Saturday in Manipur.
An Assam Rifles official said troops saw the suspicious movement of people at New Songjang village under Chandel district and intercepted two individuals moving suspiciously on a motorcycle.
On being challenged, the individuals escaped by speeding up their bikes.
However, troopers of Assam Rifles succeeded in snatching the suspicious package from the pillion rider.
On thorough checking of the package, one lakh WY Tablets were recovered.
The recovered items were handed over to Chandel Police for further investigation.
