Kohima:The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) has decided to withdraw its resolutions to remain abstain from the Nagaland Assembly election as the Union Government has reportedly assured that a mutually agreed for solution, which would be reached and implemented after the Assembly election.
According to official sources the demand for a separate Frontier Nagaland state has been resolved after hectic parleys between ENPO and the Union Ministry of Home Affairs that led to agreement for a ‘Frontier Naga Territory’ for Eastern Nagaland areas. The Agreement reportedly mutually agreed to form the ‘Frontier Naga Territory,’ which will implement after completion of the State Assembly election.
The ENPO, which has been demanding separate ‘Frontier Nagaland’ state comprising the six districts of Kiphire, Longleng, Mon, Noklak, Shamator, and Tuensang, had called to remain abstain from elections to press for their demand, however, in an executive meeting on Saturday, which was held in Dimapur, decided to ‘relaxed the August 26, 2022 resolution with immediate effect,’ according to an ENPO release on Sunday.
