Municipal workers stage dharna opposing personal mobile facial attendance

Addressing the demonstrators, union leaders Jalagadugula Srinivas, Yarramsetti Nagababu have questioned the propriety in insisting the illiterate workers to operate the smart phones for marking their attendance.

They were coming to duty in early hours and going out at 11 am and returning for duty at two pm to work up to 5 pm. How is it possible to mark their attendance four times?, they asked.

CITU city unit president Palivela Virababu asked the authorities not to create fresh problems, without solving the numerous problems faced by the municipal workers.

He has alleged that workers were not sanctioned surrender leaves and not paid the seven DA arrears.

For the APCOs workers uniform, soaps and oil, chappals should be supplied without further delay.

Similarly for the special sanitation workers the four and half months salary arrears should be paid ’ he added. Later they called on the Municipal commissioner K Ramesh and presented a memorandum listing out their demands.
