New Delhi:Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan, who is visiting Melbourne and Perth in Australia, on Sunday held discussions with the Australian Minister for Education Tony Buti and Indian-origin Parliamentarians from Western Australia on opportunities to deepen cooperation in education, trade and tourism.
In a tweet, he said:
“Had a fruitful discussion with Minister for Education, Aboriginal Affairs, Citizenship & Multicultural Interests @TonyButi_MLA & Indian-origin Parliamentarians from Western Australia at Perth.
Discussed opportunities to further deepen cooperation in education, trade and tourism.”
Earlier, he had a meeting with members of Australia-India Chamber of Commerce (AICC) in Melbourne on ways to boost bilateral economic ties.
“Lively discussion with members of Australia-India Chamber of Commerce (AICC) in Melbourne on ways to create more opportunities for Indian and Australian businesses.
“AICC could play significant role in advancing economic relations between India and Australia.”
He also met with the Indian diaspora in Melbourne.
“Delighted to interact with the vibrant Indian diaspora in Melbourne.
“Appreciate their immense contributions and adding value to our multifaceted ties with Australia.”
On Saturday, he held talks with Australian Treasurer and Minister for Industrial Relations, Trade & Investment of Victoria, Tim Pallas.
“Held fruitful discussions on wide ranging subjects of our ever growing bilateral relationship with Treasurer and Minister for Industrial Relations, Trade & Investment of Victoria, Tim Pallas.
“Also, discussed matters related to Indian diaspora.”
In Melbourne, he also paid tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives during the two World Wars, at the Shrine of Remembrance.
MoS Muraleedharan is visiting Melbourne and Perth in Australia and Singapore from February 18-21.
