Imphal: PWD, DIPR, Administrative Reforms, Commerce & Industries Minister, Thongam Biswajit Singh, greeted the working people of the state on the occasion of Labour Day/May Day which is observed on May 1, every year. He urged employers to keep workplace healthy and safety as a top priority in his May Day message.
The Minister called on all, on this ‘May Day’ to take a firm resolution to combat COVID-19 pandemic and overcome the crisis. The people of the state must abide by the guidelines seriously and follow appropriate measures to stay safe.
May Day is also known as Kamgar Divas, Kamgar Din and Antrarashtriya Shramik Divas in India. The day is observed to celebrate labour community around the globe and commemorate their contributions, his message added.
