Shillong: The Meghalaya Cabinet on Thursday has decided to set up three colleges – veterinary college, a dairy college and a fisheries college in the state.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said Veterinary & Dairy Colleges will be set up in Kyrdemkulai, Ri Bhoi District, the Fisheries College will be set up in Garo Hills.
He said the location of the fisheries college is yet to be identified. Sangma said that the seats admitted into these three colleges will be in ratio with the faculty members, that is, 60-100 annually.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet has amended the Meghalaya District Courts Managerial Service Amendment Rules which will enable the district courts to employ and run interviews at the district level as the District Selection Committees instead of having the High Court conduct grade 3 and 4 posts.
