The Meghalaya Assembly Secretariat thereafter sought reply from the legislators who merged with the All India Trinamool Congress. Twelve Congress MLAs merged with the TMC recently.

The petitioner has requested for your disqualification from the membership of the House on various counts as required under the Tenth Scheduled of the Constitution …provisions of Rule 6 of the members of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly,” the notice issued by Commissioner and Secretary Andrew Simmons said.

The Assembly Secretariat has given Sangma seven days time for Sangma to reply on the charges levelled by Lyngdoh under Rule 7(3) (b).

“I am confident that I have justifiable grounds to seek the disqualification of the membership of Dr Mukul Sangma and others. I have lodged a complaint against legislators barring two…” Lyngdoh said.

Lyngdoh said she would also file a complaint against Charles Pyngrope, the newly elected TMC president and Shitlang Pale.
