Meghalaya Governor’s convoy attacked

A police official on condition of anonymity said the incident occurred at about 4 pm during the curfew hours at Jingkieng Mawlai area in which two police and two Raj Bhavan vehicles were damaged.

However, nobody was injured in the attack.

Till the filing of this report, no one has been arrested nor it is known if the police have registered a case in this connection Curfew was imposed in Shillong city since August 15 after violence broke out in protest against the “killing” of a Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) militant leader in a police firing on August 13.
