Shillong: The Governor of Meghalaya, Satya Pal Malik had a consultative meeting Friday with the heads of Army, Air Force, Assam Rifles, BSF and CRPF in Shillong. 

The meeting was called to review COVID-19 preparedness and strategies employed by the armed forces and paramilitary forces, their hospital and quarantine facilities, ICU and oxygen availability and coordination with the State government.

The meeting was convened as per the advice of the Union Minister for Defence to review preparations at the level of armed forces and paramilitary forces to ensure cooperation and better coordination amongst them.

Air Marshal Amit Dev, AOC HQ EAC from Air Force, Lt General K C Panchanathan, GOC, 101 Area, Army, Major General S S Deusi, Assam Rifles attended the meeting from the side of armed forces. CRPF attended representing CRPF Sonal V Mishra,  and DIG, BSF D Haokip,  also attended from the side of the central paramilitary forces.

The invitees representing the armed forces and Central Paramilitary forces expressed their support in any emergency situation and promised also to extend full support to other services.
