Shillong: The Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Secretariat on Saturday expressed deep sorrow over the passing of veteran leader and former Chief Minister Salseng C. Marak.

Known as one of the last political stalwarts of the state, Marak’s legacy is defined by his unwavering dedication and remarkable contributions to Meghalaya.

In a statement, Dr. Andrew, Commissioner and Secretary of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, reflected on Marak’s long and distinguished service to the state, noting that his enduring love and support from the people was evident throughout his tenure in the Assembly and various ministerial roles.
