Manipur sees 97 recoveries against 70 new cases Wednesday

Imphal: Manipur reported two Covid related deaths, 70 positive cases (69 general population, 1 CAPF)  and 97 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Wednesday, as per an official release from the health department.

Of the two who expired Monday, one of them was from Imphal West while the other was from Imphal East. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,917. One of the persons who succumbed to the deadly virus Tuesday has co-morbidities while one had been vaccinated with the 1st does.

Of the 69 persons who tested positive from the general population, 31 of them are from Imphal West, 20 from Imphal East, four each from Churachandpur and Ukhrul, three each from Bishnupur and Kakcing, two from Thoubalk and one each from Chandel, Kamjong and Kangpokpi,

Altogether, 1,974 persons were tested for a positivity rate of 3.5 %.

Meanwhile, 97 persons recovered and were discharged, 15 of them are from home isolation, 60 from CCCs and 22 from JNIMS.  The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.76 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 23,473 out of which 1,20,721 have recovered leaving 844 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on October 26, 2021, is 10,222 the cumulative number of doses administered is 19,15 ,974 (1st dose 12,44,261, 2nd dose 6,71,713).
