Manipur reports two death, 188 positive cases, 235 recoveries Wednesday

Both of them had co-morbidities; one of them had received the 2nd dose of Covid vaccine while the other one had not been vaccinated at all.

Imphal: Manipur registered two Covid-related deaths, 188 positive cases (186 general population, two CAPF) and 235 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Wednesday, as per an official release from the Health Department.

The two deceased persons are from Imphal East and Ukhrul respectively. Both of them had co-morbidities; one of them had received the 2nd dose of Covid vaccine while the other one had not been vaccinated at all. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 2074.

Of the 186 persons from the general population who tested positive, 61 are from Imphal West, 50 from Imphal East, 17 from Bishnupur, 11 each from Thoubal and Tamenglong, 10 from Churachandpur, nine from Kakching, eight from Ukhrul, four from Senapati, two each from Tengnoupal, Chandel and Noney, and one from Kangpokpi. Altogether 2,214 persons were tested which amounted to a positivity rate of 8.4 %

Meanwhile, 235 persons recovered and were discharged, 181 from home isolation, 34 from CCCs, nine from JNIMS and 11 from RIMS. The recovery rate of the state stands at 95.84 %. 

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1,35,358 out of which 1,29,729 have recovered, leaving 3,555 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on February 8, 2022, is 9,826, the cumulative number of doses administered is 25,98,426 (1st dose 14,69,590, 2nd dose 10,85,648) and precautionary dose 43,188.

There are a total of 300 Covid beds in JNIMS, out of which 63 are occupied while 237 are vacant while in RIMS there are 190 Covid beds, out of which 68 are occupied and 122 are vacant.
