Imphal: Two persons succumbed to Covid-19 while 10 persons tested positive in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Sunday. During the same period, four persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the Health Department.
The two persons who expired are from Thoubal and Chandel. With these two deaths the cumulative death toll in Manipur due to Covid now stands at 2145. Both of them had co-morbidities; one has taken the 1st dose of Covid vaccine while the other had not been vaccinated at all.
Of the 10 persons who tested positive, four are from Imphal West, two each from Imphal East and Bishnupur and one each from Churachandpur and Ukhrul. Altogether, 438 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 2.3 %.
Meanwhile, four persons recovered from home isolation. The recovery rate of the state as of Saturday stands at 98.39 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 39, 609 of which 1, 37,364 have recovered leaving 100 active cases in the state.
As on August 20, 2022, 146 -type oxygen cylinders and 13 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available at different health facilities in Manipur.
The status of Covid Hospital facilities in the state as on August 21, 2022 are as follows: JNIMS has a total of 38 beds out of which 12 are occupied and 26 are vacant. RIMS has a total of 62 beds out of which seven are occupied and 55 are vacant.
The total number of doses administered on August 20, is 1,113, the cumulative number of doses administered is 31,54,484 (1st dose 16,24,848, 2nd dose 12,96,815) and precautionary dose is 2,32,821.
