Bishnupur: District Administration, Bishnupur, in association with ICDS Cell Bishnupur, launched Poshan Pakhwada at the Panchayat Resource Centre, Mini Secretariat Complex in Bishnupur on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner, Lourembam Bikram attended the launching function as the chief guest, while District Nodal Officer, RBSK/RKSK, Dr. Ksh. Umananda Singh, and CDPO Moirang, N. Ruparani, were the guest of honour and president of the function, respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Lourembam Bikram highlighted the need for convergence of all line departments to achieve the objectives of the Poshan Pakhwada campaign. The DC also encouraged ICDS officials and workers to work with full commitment so that the campaign penetrates each and every household in the district.
Poshan Pakhwada will be observed across the district from March 20 till April 3. Several activities are being planned to raise awareness of the importance of nutrition and promote healthy eating habits all through the fortnight. With the declaration of 2023 as the International Year of Millets, the focus of Poshan Pakhwada this year is to popularize ‘Shree Anna’- the mother of all grains, as a valuable asset to address malnutrition.
ADC Bishnupur, H. Bobby Sharma, ICDS officials and staff, Anganwadi workers and helpers also participated in the function.
