Imphal: Water Resource and Relief & Disaster Management Minister, Awangbow Newmai inspected machinery of Loktak Lift Irrigation(LLI) in Bishnupur District along with MLA Moirang AC, Thongam Shanti Singh.
Briefing the media, Minister Awangbow stated that newly procured water pumps have been installed. He also assured that water woes of the farmers will be reduced once the transformers are installed.
Awangbow also stated that the current problem is unexpected. He also said that MLA Thongam Shanti Singh is also really considerate about the sufferings and problems faced by the farmers regarding water shortage.
He assured that new transformers would be arriving in a few days’ time. He also stated that work is on progress to mend and repair by replacing all the spare parts of the transformer with the new ones.
The officials and staff of the water resources department also accompanied the Minister during the inspection.
