Manipur logs one Covid death, 77 positive cases, 101 recoveries

The lone person who expired due to Covid is a female resident of Imphal East. She had no comorbidities but had not been vaccinated at all against Covid. The cumulative death due to Covid in Manipur now stands at 2129.

Imphal: One person succumbed to Covid-19, 77 persons from the general population tested positive while 101 persons recovered and were discharged in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Thursday in Manipur, as per an official release from the Health Department. 

The lone person who expired due to Covid is a female resident of Imphal East. She had no comorbidities but had not been vaccinated at all against Covid. The cumulative death due to Covid in Manipur now stands at 2129.

Of the 77 persons who tested positive, 37 are from Imphal West, 10 from Imphal East, 13 from Churachandpur, four each from Bishnupur and Chandel, three each from Thoubal and Ukhrul, two from Kakching and one from Kangpokpi. Altogether, 808 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 9.5%.

Meanwhile, 101 persons recovered and were discharged. The recovery rate of the state as of Wednesday stands at 98.04 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 38, 886 out of which 1, 36,167 have recovered leaving 590 active cases in the state.

As on July 27, 2022, 80 D-type oxygen cylinders and 20 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available at different health facilities in Manipur.

The status of Covid Hospital facilities in the state as on July 28, 2022 are as follows: JNIMS has a total of 38 beds out of which 20 are occupied and 18 are vacant. RIMS has a total of 62 beds out of which 40 are occupied and 22 are vacant. 

 The total number of doses administered on July 27 is 7,985 the cumulative number of doses administered is 30,88,969 (1st dose 16,11,662, 2nd dose 12,83,920) and precautionary dose is 1,93,387.
