Manipur logs 57 new positive cases, on death Wednesday

The lone person who succumbed to the deadly virus is from Imphal East, with this, the cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,926. The person who expired had co-morbidities and had taken the 2nd dose.

Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Wednesday, Manipur reported one Covid related death, 57 new positive cases (56 general population, 1 CAPF) and 61 recoveries, as per an official release from the health department.

The lone person who succumbed to the deadly virus is from Imphal East, with this, the cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,926. The person who expired had co-morbidities and had taken the 2nd dose.

Of the 56 persons who tested positive from the general population, 29 of them are from Imphal West,  19 from Imphal East, two each from Bishnupur, Chandel, Senapati and Ukhrul, and one from Thoubal.

Altogether, 1,686 persons were tested giving a positivity rate of 3.4 %.

Meanwhile, 56 persons recovered and were discharged, 13 of them from home isolation, 30 from CCCs, and 13 from JNIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.88 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 23,899 out of which 1,21,2269 have recovered leaving 704 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on November 2, 2021, is 11,089, the cumulative number of doses administered is 19,88,634 (1st dose 12,51,250, 2nd dose 7,37,384).
