Assam Rifles conduct 3-Day eye camp at Manipur border posts

Imphal: Tengnoupal, Chandel and Moreh, 04 June 2026: Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Bungo Opticals, Imphal, organised a three-day Eye Screening Camp from 02 to 04 June 2026 at Tengnoupal, Moreh and Modi. The initiative was undertaken to promote preventive eye healthcare and ensure the welfare and operational readiness of Security Force personnel serving in remote and sensitive areas. 

The camp focused on early detection and timely management of vision-related ailments, thereby enhancing alertness, precision and overall combat effectiveness. An eye specialist from Assam Rifles, supported by a dedicated medical team, conducted comprehensive examinations including vision assessment, colour blindness testing, visual acuity evaluation and general ophthalmic screening. 

A total of 305 beneficiaries, comprising Assam Rifles personnel, Border Security Force personnel, family members and children, availed specialised eye care services during the camp. The screening enabled timely identification of ocular issues and provided beneficiaries with expert medical advice, treatment recommendations and guidance on maintaining long-term eye health. 

The support extended by Bungo Opticals ensured delivery of quality medical services, while the initiative also offered troops and their families an opportunity to seek professional consultation and corrective recommendations. Participants expressed gratitude for the specialised care, underscoring the importance of such outreach programmes in boosting morale and well-being. 

This healthcare initiative highlighted the critical role of preventive medical camps in sustaining the fitness and efficiency of Security Force personnel serving in operationally demanding environments across Manipur.
