Kamjong: District Administration Kamjong observed the Bijli Mahotsav and Ujala Diwas at Khamlang village under Kasom Khullen sub-division of Kamjong district on Tuesday as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
More than hundreds of villagers who attended the event today appreciated the steps taken up by the BJP-led government for bringing such a phenomenal change to their lifestyles through this initiative,
The program was attended by Former EM, ADC Ukhrul, N Wungreiyo, and Former member ADC, Ukhrul, S Thotaseng, as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
DC Kamjong, Peter Rang Namei Peter and SDO Kasom Khullen, Duna Duo sub-division were the other important dignitaries on the dais.
Speaking on the occasion, Peter Rang Namei said that observation of such an event will bring awareness to the villagers about the importance of power supply in such a time and generation where everything related to life is connected to electricity.
He also expressed his gratitude to the present government led by Narenda Modi- at the Centre and N Biren at the state for bringing such a change to the people belonging to the nook and corner areas of the state. He appealed the villagers to have judicious use of power as, without it, life would be impossible in this modern world.
As a part of the program, several film shows relating to the village and rural electrification, renewable energy etc were screened.
The observation was jointly organized by the Ministry of Power, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of Manipur and the MSPDCL, DGM of MSPDCL, Kamjong Victor Duidang and Sr Manager of NHPC Ltd, Hemam Dhanashyam, were also present in the function.
