Manipur Health Minister calls upon young doctors to serve people

Dr Ranjan said that there are enormous responsibilities of a doctor ahead after graduation from a medical college. During the students’ period, one can learn a lot of things.

Imphal: Health & IPR Minister, Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh said that doctors need to have the spirit to serve the needy people. “They should be blessed by the sincere and noble service they rendered to the patients”.

Minister Ranjan was speaking on the occasion of the Graduation Ceremony, 2022, of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, RIMS, Imphal held at the Jubilee Hall of the institute.

He said that there are enormous responsibilities of a doctor ahead after graduation from a medical college. During the students’ period, one can learn a lot of things. They also experienced many different lessons. All the knowledge they gained should be dedicated to humanity’s service, he added.

Minister maintained that everybody faces a lot of challenges in life. Overcoming difficulties should be the objective of an individual. Being in the medical profession, the trust of the people should not be lost. Sincere and dedicated service is very much required. Medical students and young doctors should not forget that the medical profession is a noble profession, he stated.

Minister Ranjan continued that life is full of struggle and it never stops. The Minister congratulated all the passed-out MBBS and PG students of RIMS for the year 2022. Degree certificates were also distributed to those successful students. 

Speaking as president, Director, RIMS, Prof. A. Shanta said that for learning even the sky is not the limit. He urged the young doctors to learn as much as possible so that they can perform, transform and reform society.

Director NEIGRIHMS, Shilong, Dr. Nalin Mehta; Dr. Chief Cardiac Surgeon, Rabindranath Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences, Kolkata, Lalit Kapoor; Dean Academic, RIMS, Imphal, Prof. Brogen Singh Akoijam, Medical Superintendent, RIMS also shared the dais as guests of honour.
