Manipur electoral roll published

The total number of voters was 2043156, including 988704 males , 1054245 females and 207 transgenders. The total number of polling stations was 2955.

Imphal: The draft photo electoral rolls of all 60 Manipur Assembly constituencies were published on Wednesday.

Rajesh Agrawal, Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur said the general Public/Electors and representatives of political parties were free to inspect or verify the rolls.

The total number of voters was 2043156, including 988704 males , 1054245 females and 207 transgenders. The total number of polling stations was 2955. 

Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur and Registrar, Manipur University also flagged off a Walkathon from Manipur University Gate to Kakwa Bazar on the theme of ‘A step for Participative Elections’, organised in connection with the nation-wide launch of special summary revision of rolls 2023.

Agrawal appraised the participants about the importance of enrolling all the unenrolled eligible electors and stressed that the young voters can play a vital role in bringing a positive change towards development of the country at a rapid pace.

A meeting with all recognised national and state political parties was also held.

With the sole objective of giving maximum awareness to the electors, a new “THE TREND” campaign under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation was launched.
