Thoubal: Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, A. Subhash Singh, Thursday chaired and reviewed various schemes and projects taken up by all the departments in the district.
During the meeting held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, he said the meeting was organised with the aim of better coordination among departments towards achieving optimal utilisation and implementation of schemes.
He further said that for the successful implementation of e-Governance in the district, State Wide Area Network (SWAN) connectivity will be provided for the scheduled implementation of e-Office from April 1, 2023 in the district offices’. He instructed DLOs to notify their respective department head offices to provide computers.
Power Point presentations were given by the DLOs on the various schemes and projects taken up by the respective departments. Chief Medical Officer, Thomas Thoubal, gave a detailed presentation regarding Unique Disability ID. He informed that District Medical Board (Disability) Day meeting is held on the 10th of every month; (if the specified date falls on a holiday or Sunday, the sitting is done on the next working day in the chamber of CMO Thoubal. 701 UDID cards have been generated, 383 cards have been dispatched, and 719 have been sent to a printing agency, he added.
The District Social Welfare Officer gave a detailed presentation of various schemes in the district, namely the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), the Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme (MOAPS), the Chief Ministergi Shotharabasingi Tenbang (CMSHT), the Disable Pension Scheme, the Chief Minister Widow Pension (CMWPS), Unemployment Allowance, and the Marriage Incentive.
Public Health Engineering Division informed the audience during the presentation that in the district, 34,126 functional water tap connections have been provided under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and New Development Bank water supply schemes, achieving a target of 80.67%. As the water supply is pond-fed, there is no issue during the lean season. 35 water supply schemes have been set up, and the work is in full swing.
After the presentation, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the CMO and ICDS officials to provide data on health and wellness centres and anganwadi centres so that they could also avail of a tap water connection.
Regarding the Education Department, ZEO Thoubal stated that under the new Education Policy 2020, coordination and convergence of various departments like ICDS is needed. He also stated that the SSA provides annual grants to schools based on student enrollment numbers.For this, a detailed work plan has to be put up by the schools.
Regarding the Amrit Sarovar project, 75 sites for constructing water bodies have been identified, and 30 sites have been completed. The mission is targeted to be finished by August 2023.
The District Fishery Officer, District Sericulture Office, and District Veterinary Office also gave their respective presentations.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed the District Officers’ of Agriculture and Allied Departments to exercise their power and pull up banks to successfully implement the Kishan Credit Cards campaign.
