Imphal: The Congress party has described the last five years of BJP rule in Manipur as a period of darkness.
Manipur Congress Spokesperson, Ningombam Bupenda Meitei addressing the media here on Sunday said the BJP misruled the state for five years as evident from the fact that no MCS (Manipur Civil Services) Examination was done during BJP’s misrule of five years.
The Congress will also form Staff Selection Commission to recruit non gazetted employees. He said if Congress comes back to power regular MCS examinations will be done.
Pranav Vaccharajani AICC National Convener, Social media department and Mutum Sarma, President Manipur Women Congress who also attended the conference said the Congress party will ensure that the state government gives regular proposal for recruitment for MCS Exam to Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC).
Bupenda said it is not only Civil Service, but police, finance and other cadre officials were also not recruited. He further said the BJP government also decided to contractualise all posts of Group A, B, C & D and reduce the salary by half. If the Congress comes back to power the decision will be quashed to enable regular appointments of Group A,B, C and D employees, he added. They will be provided salary as per recommendation of the Pay Commission, he said.
Previous Congress governments ensured that state cadre officials were given appointments as Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police but it was stopped during the BJP regime, he said.
Congress and its allies will ensure the responsibility of DC to MCS officers and SP to MPS officers, he added. For group C & D and other categories, Staff Selection Commission will be established for smooth recruitment of permanent non-gazetted government posts in the state, he said.
Bupenda said central and BJP had been announcing to generate seven and half lakh jobs repeatedly but the BJP has stopped all recruitment process. Where are the jobs, assured in 2017 when BJP came to power, he said. Forget about new recruitments even the results of the examinations held earlier were not announced.
When Kiren Rijiju was serving as Mos Home in the first Modi he had informed Rajya Sabha that eleven Indian Reserve Battalions will be formed in Manipur. Not even a single battalion was formed, Bupendra said.Â
