Jan Kalyan Shivir (Public Welfare Camp) kicks off  in Senapati  district

Senapati: The District Administration, Senapati, today launched the district-wide Jan Kalyan Shivir (Public Welfare Camp) at the Multi-Purpose Hall opposite the Mini Secretariat Complex, Senapati. The three-day campaign, which began today, will continue till 20th June 2026, with welfare camps also being conducted at the sub-divisional level across the district.

The initiative aims to ensure the effective outreach and saturation of welfare and beneficiary-oriented schemes by bringing various services of both the Central and State Governments closer to the grassroots. The campaign seeks to enable every eligible citizen to seamlessly access government schemes, benefits, and essential public services.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, Dharun Kumar S., described the Public Welfare Campaign as a significant initiative towards promoting transparent, efficient, and accountable governance by delivering essential government services directly to the people’s doorstep. Acknowledging the challenges often faced by citizens in accessing government offices, he urged the public to make full use of the camp by availing themselves of the services being offered. He also encouraged participants to spread awareness about the initiative among neighbouring villages so that more eligible citizens could benefit from the programme. He also called upon all government officials to discharge their duties with commitment, empathy, integrity, and a strong sense of purpose.

Following the inaugural programme, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADM) PP Ronald and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Autonomous District Council (ADC), Senapati, Adahrii Maheo inspected the departmental stalls set up at the venue.

Delivering the welcome address, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Senapati, P.P. Ronald, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the significance of the Jan Kalyan Shivir as a nationwide initiative aimed at ensuring the effective implementation and saturation of government welfare schemes and services. He emphasized the importance of the welfare camp in extending the benefits of various government programmes to every eligible beneficiary and encouraged the public to make the most of the opportunity by availing themselves of the services and schemes offered through the departmental stalls. He also appealed to the attendees to spread awareness about the initiative so that more eligible citizens could benefit from the camp.

During the programme, various welfare benefits were distributed to beneficiaries by different departments. These included six Kisan Credit Card (KCC) sanction letters under the Khet Bachao Abhiyan, sports materials to youth organisations, six units of vermicompost, three hearing aids, two wheelchairs, five walking sticks, three Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) cards, three (CMHT) cards, four Sponsorship under Mission Vatsalya, 100 dust bin under Solid Waste Management and 280 tree saplings.

A total of 25 service delivery stalls were established by various government departments and offices to disseminate information on welfare schemes, facilitate enrolment, address public grievances, and provide on-the-spot services and benefits under a wide range of government programmes.

Meanwhile, Sub-Divisional Welfare Camps were also successfully organised at Lairouching and Song Song under the supervision of the respective Sub-Divisional Officers, James Pani and Rang David Kung. The camps witnessed active participation from village chairmen, secretaries, and a large number of villagers, ensuring wider outreach and greater accessibility of government services to citizens residing in different parts of the district.

The inaugural programme was attended by Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs), District Level Officers (DLOs) and their staff, representatives of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Village Authorities, community leaders, youth organisations, and members of the general public.
