Imphal: Chief Minister N.Biren Singh on Wednesday inaugurated a sports complex at Oklong Village in Senapati District named after his late father N Goura Singh.
Biren conveyed his gratitude to the locals for naming the complex in his late father’s name. He stated that there is no religion or caste in sports, everyone is equal in the field of sports, sports unites everyone.
The chief minister said that six district sports facilities were in the process of completion.
The sports facilities will be equipped with galleries and changing rooms.
He further added that since the Election model Code of Conduct is around the corner, he may not be able to visit these places but they are in the top priority list.
The Chief Minister also attended the 88th Anniversary of Makhel Heritage Conclave Reserve. He thanked the Mao Students Organisations and the Moa community for welcoming him in their midst.

Biren informed that for constructing Re – united Heritage Park, the state government will provide monetary funds. Such an initiative will promote youth with leadership skills and explore career opportunities through academic sessions.
The chief minister also informed that he took the initiative to open MaoMarket in Imphal and he will definitely participate in any events organised by the Mao community. With agency inputs
