Imphal: Manipur recorded 629 coronavirus cases on Wednesday, while nine more people succumbed to the disease, according to the health bulletin issued by the state government. The state had reported 575 Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, while 10 fatalities were recorded.
Wednesday’s nine fresh fatalities have pushed the death toll in the state to 1,074. Manipur has recorded 65, 622 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began. Of this, over 55,257 patients, including 543 on Wednesday, have recovered or have been discharged from the hospital so far.
Nine people – one at DH Churachandpur, three each at RIMS and JNIMS and two at Shija Hospital expired. Among them three each were from Imphal West and Imphal East and one each at Bishnupur, Noney and Churachandpur.
According to the health bulletin, 5,336 tests, including 4862 RT-PCR/TrueNat CBNAAT tests, were conducted during the past 24 hours.
Only 3868 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours, totaling the number at 5,04,276 so far.
The number of active cases in the state touched to 9,291 and the recovery rate is 84.20 per cent.
Meanwhile, the state health department has appealed to people with oxygen level (SPO2) below 94 per cent to immediately seek medical advice or shift to Covid Care Centres, Helpline numbers: Covid Control Room number -1800-345-3818, Home Isolation Helpline: 0385-2441230, 0385-2441231.
