Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday called for building resistance against the BJP across India.

Speaking at a meeting in Phulbagan, Banerjee said she wanted to see the BJP defeated all over India. ‘Khela Hobe’ will also be played in 2024, she said.

She further said that she will protect the culture and harmony of the country along with the culture of Bengal.

The Trinamool supremo said, ‘Bangla will bring dawn to the world’.

She said the whole of India is looking at Kolkata. The people of Bengal are very intelligent. The people of Bengal want the Trinamool Congress to be in the Calcutta Corporation.

“The whole world is looking at Kolkata. I made Kolkata one city. No matter how many cities there are, what Kolkata is thinking will make the whole of India think again.

Banerjee confidently added, ”A vote of the people of Kolkata will inspire me. Will lead me forward.”
“Whoever comes to me says, ‘Kiya tha before, ab kiya ban giya’. I like it very much,” Banerjee said.

The Trinamool supremo said, “Look, there is no dispute between us. Somewhere there are Hindi speakers (in Kolkata), somewhere there are Bengali speakers, somewhere there are Urdu speakers. Everyone celebrates equally. We also do Durga Pujo and Chhatpujo.”

Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, the Trinamool leader held a rally in support of Trinamool Congress candidates in 60 wards of North Kolkata at the corner of Phulbagan.
Banerjee has called for the removal of the BJP from power at the Center since the last Assembly elections.

The Trinamool Congress, led by General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, is now aiming to expand into various Indian states.

She said, “People of all religions can move forward through coordination, this is their oath.”
Earlier, she had given a message of religious harmony at a public meeting in Goa on Tuesday.
