Imphal: The prompt handing over of a bomb blast case that took place between Phubakchao Awang Leikai and Kwakta village in Bishnupur district by the state government to the National Investigating Agency (NIA) is laudable, Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), said on Sunday.

However, it’s lamentable that many cases of higher magnitude involving terrorists and terror organisations have not been probed yet, albeit clear evidence of their involvement, KIM said in a letter sent to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, through Kuldiep Singh, Security Advisor to the State government.

Citing the example of Pramod Singh, self-styled leader of Meitei Leepun, who allegedly openly threatened to annihilate the whole of the Kuki population in an interview on a TV show early this month, the Kuki body asked the Union government to be impartial, and fair and show the same level of promptness in dealing with many such incidents related to acts of terrorism in the wake of communal clashes between Kukis and Meeteis since May 3 last month.

It further claimed that the resolution of COCOMI is prima facie evidence that the arms loot was meticulously planned and spearheaded by them and they are in command of the whole episode. The declaration of ‘Manipuri National War’ and abetting of arms looting from security establishments and other prejudicial activities are serious threats to National security, it added.
