Janmashtami celebrated in Manipur

For the second year in a row, the celebrations were limited only to few persons due to the Covid pandemic.

Imphal: Janmasthmi was celebrated in Manipur sans attendance of devotees. Rituals were performed at Shri Shri Govindajee temple, ISKCON and other temple complexes by priests.

The entry of people was restricted due to the Covid pandemic.

Governor La Ganesan said in a message “Janma Asthami celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna and his universal message as given in Bhagavad Gita has guided the people through centuries to stand firm in the light for truth and justice against all odds.”

He appealed to remember the teachings of Lord Krishna and work for the promotion of peace, cooperation and mutual goodwill among all sections of the society.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh wishes all on the occasion of Janma Ashtami and appealed to remember the teaching of Lord Krishna ‘Karma Yoga’, which is a call to focus on ‘our responsibilities rather than caring for rewards’.
