Amaravati: Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours, the Meteorological Centre said on Friday.


In a daily weather report here, it said that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next three days and in Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours.


Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at a few places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema during the next seven days.


Heavy rainfall occurred at one or two places over Vizianagaram district of North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Nandyal district of Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours.


Rainfall occurred at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, at a few places over Rayalaseema, and at one or two places over Yanam during the same period.


Southwest monsoon has been active over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and normal over Rayalaseema, the report added.
