Patna: Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP Rajyasabha MP Sushil Kumar Modi on Friday alleged that health department and Health Services, an important pillar of public welfare was in shambles under the regime of Grand Alliance government in the state.

Modi said here that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has entrusted the responsibilities of 6 departments including health department to Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Prasad Yadav who was not giving proper attention and time to any of the department due to his busy schedule.

He said that Tejaswi neither improved the condition of district hospitals in 60 days nor took any action against 705 doctors who have been declared absent for the past several years.

The BJP MP raised fingers at the payment of salary to such doctors and asked the health minister to explain about the announcement made for providing free treatment of Rs 5 lakh to the patients holding ration cards.

Modi said that Tejaswi had suspended a doctor during inspection when the dengue was at its peak but since then he did not reviewed the health services and left the patients at the mercy of the God.

He said that sterilisation operation of a woman without administrating anaesthesia in Khagaria indicates insensitivity and wretched condition of the health services and alleged that the assurance ensuring medicines supply and doctors presence and to improve the basic services in the district hospitals within two months stands tall promises of the health minister.
