Imphal: Governor La Ganesan Wednesday released a new Manipuri Dance Drama entitled “KANSA VADH”, at Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Akademy Hall, Imphal.
The story of the drama is based on Sri Krishna killing King Kansa. The story depicts the triumph of goodness over evil. The theme of the play was ‘let the pandemic coronavirus Covid-19 be ousted from the world’.
Addressing the occasion as Chief Guest, the Governor stated that it is our duty to preserve and enrich the culture. Manipur is well known to the world in performing arts and sports as well. The Governor expressed his gratitude that Harimati Dance & Music Centre has produced various forms of dance and drama besides propagating Manipuri culture.
Later, a Manipuri Dance Drama’ Kansa Vadh’, a new production of Harimati Dance & Music Centre, under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India was presented.
The function was graced by Ngangom Uttam Singh, Director, Arts & Culture, N. Manishyam Singh, President of Harimati Dance & Music Centre (HDMC) as Guest of Honour and President respectively.
