Fully vaccinated can enter bars, restaurants, clubs in Meghalaya

Two more deaths due to Covid-19 related complications increased the fatality figure to 1561 in the state today, as per official information.

Shillong: Persons who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 can enter bars, restaurants, cinema halls and clubs, district authorities in Meghalaya has said in an order even as restrictions due to the pandemic have been relaxed across the state with the number of daily case count on the decline.

“It shall be the responsibility of the proprietor/owner to ensure that all visitors are doubly vaccinated. Gatherings/ events/weddings are permitted subject to prior permission from the Deputy Commissioner and adherence to Covid appropriate behavior,” Deputy Commissioner Isawanda Laloo mentioned in her order, adding that shops are permitted to open on Sundays.

On Saturday, the state recorded more cases of recovery at 162, which surged the number of recovered cases to 90522 than new cases of Covid-19 infection at 86, with the number of active cases declining to 850 in the state, which has so far registered 92933 confirmed cases of Corona virus infection, as per report received from the health and family welfare department.

Two more deaths due to Covid-19 related complications increased the fatality figure to 1561 in the state today, as per official information.

The new Covid-19 cases detected in the state on Saturday included 22 in the most pandemic-hit East Khasi Hills, which includes state capital Shillong, even as the number of active cases came down to 328 in the district with 51 more cases of recovery.

On the other hand, the West Garo Hills recorded 20 new Covid-19 cases and 28 cases of recovery on Saturday with the number active cases in the district coming down to 143, Ri-Bhoi reported 10 new cases of infection and 19 cases or recovery which brought down the number of active cases in the district to 108, while the other districts reported cases in single digits, as per the latest official case count.

Meanwhile, 32110 health care workers have received the first dose of the vaccine against Covid-19, 29356 have been administered with the second dose and 5975 have taken the third precaution dose, while, 96992 front-line workers have been vaccinated with the first dose, 85233 have received the second dose and 14829 have got the precaution shot, even as1220113 persons from among the general public have been inoculated with the first dose,829492 have been fully vaccinated with the second dose and 2663 citizens have taken the booster dose across the state as on date, according to the National Health Mission record.
