Kangpokpi: The district officials of the Social Welfare Department of the Saikul Integrated Child Development (ICDS) Project Tuesday distributed food items to the Anganwadi Centres for providing hot cooked meals in Saikul Sub-Division, Kangpokpi District.
All together 249 Aganwadi centres collected hot cooked meal items which will be further distributed to the beneficiaries in the form of ‘take-home ration’. As classes for the beneficiaries are on halt in view of the COVID situation, allotted rations will be distributed to the respective beneficiaries through home visits by the Anganwadi Workers.
The food items such as gram, pulses, salt, mustard oil, turmeric powder, and groundnut among others were distributed under the Supplementary Nutrition Programme, ICDS of the Social Welfare Department to the eligible beneficiaries that is children under 6 years, pregnant women and lactating mothers as per the guidelines laid down by the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India.
District Programme Officer Roselin Doungel; Child Development Project Officer of Saikul ICDS Project Mutum Leimatombi Devi; supervisors and staff were present during the distribution of food items.
