Five more deaths, 319 positive cases Saturday in Manipur

Imphal: Five more persons died, 312 persons from the general public and 7 personnel of CAPF tested positive while 79 persons recovered in the last 24 hours leading to 5:00 pm of Saturday, in Manipur, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The five persons who succumbed to the pandemic, include a 71-year-old female resident of Imphal West and a 55-year-old male from Imphal East who expired at Raj Medicity, a 50-year-old female resident of Imphal East who expired at RIMS and an 80-year-old male from Kakching and a 26-year-old who expired at JNIMS. The cumulative death toll due to the pandemic in the state now stands at 410.

Of the 312 persons (162 males 150 females) who tested positive from the general population, 120 of them are from Imphal West, 91 are from Imphal East, 24 from Bishnupur, 23 Kakching, 15 Senapati, 11 Thoubal, 8 each from Ukhrul and Churachandpur, 6 from Kangpokpi, 2 from Chandel and 1 each from Tamenglong and Tengnoupa.

Meanwhile, there were 79 recoveries which include 65 from home isolation, 7 from SHRI, 3 JNIMS and 2 each from RD Wing RIMS. The recovery rate in the state further dips to 93.53%.

The cumulative number of positive cases now stands at 31,905 (General Population — 28,934 and Central Security Personnel — 3,571). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 29,843 (General Population — 26,392 CAPF— 3,451). The number of active cases is 1652(general population 1336 and CAPF 116).

As per the latest information, the total number of vaccination is 194659.

The official release further advised all persons above the age of 45 years to get vaccinated immediately at vaccine centres of RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs, and select private hospitals.
