Gangtok: Invoking the Disaster Management Act, 2005, Sikkim has made face masks and maintenance of social distancing mandatory following the resurgence in Covid 19 cases, 

‘Due to the significant rise in active cases to 29 and1 death, the Home Department, Government of Sikkim, has invoked the provisions of Disaster Management Act, 2005,’ said R Telang, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department.
