Imphal: Education Minister, S Rajen Singh Saturday distributed Personnel Computer sets and textbooks to the colleges under the Government of Manipur. The distribution programme was organised by the Directorate of Education (U) under Mission 2.5 NAAC.
Speaking to media persons During the distribution programme held at the conference hall of Directorate of Education (U) at Nityaipat Chuthek, S Rajen stated that the Government has been taking up all possible efforts to promote education in the State. He said, grievances of the government college teachers will be taken into consideration according to the feasibility of the State Budget. The Chief Minister of Manipur has also been approached to discuss minutely regarding the matter, he added.
He stated that PCs and Textbooks have been distributed to select colleges for the first phase, he informed that remaining colleges will be provided with PCs and textbooks in the next phase as per requirement of the concerned colleges.
Minister also appealed to the teachers who are agitating regarding implementation of pay anomalies to maintain calm and that their demands will be processed after the ongoing budget session. Suggestions from all sections are welcomed to improve the education system in the state .
Later, the Minister also informed that, after the budget session is over, he will visit interior hill regions of the State to take stock of the various infrastructure and also to ensure that needed basic requirements in the educational institution of the areas are provided.
Director, Education (U) Dr Rangitabali Waikhom and other officials were also present at the function.
