Assam: On the occasion of World Water Day, the Red Shield Gunners under the aegis of Spear Corps, organised the ‘Blue Planet Run’ at Bhupen Hazarika Bridge, Assam, to spread awareness on water conservation while promoting physical fitness and inspiring youth towards a disciplined life and service to the Nation.

Approximately 120 enthusiastic youths participated alongside Army personnel, reflecting strong civil–military bonding and a shared commitment towards environmental responsibility. The run was flagged off amidst high enthusiasm, with participants displaying discipline, determination and team spirit.

The event highlighted the importance of conserving water as a vital resource for sustaining life on Earth and encouraged participants to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives. It also served as a platform to motivate youth towards nation-building and a sense of responsibility.

On culmination, top performers were awarded medals and certificates, and refreshments were provided to all participants.

The initiative underscores the Indian Army’s continued commitment towards environmental awareness, community engagement and youth empowerment, while also motivating young individuals to join the Indian Army and serve the Nation with pride and dedication.
