Crorepati BJP & Cong candidates in fray for HP polls

Shimla: Among the top five wealthiest candidates who are in the fray for ongoing assembly elections are one BJP and four Congress candidates who showed an increase in their wealth in their sworn affidavit submitted to Election Commission recently.

Among those who have shown the highest assets include builders, scions or heirs of royal and political dynasties and owners of tea estates.

The sitting BJP MLA, builder, and prominent apple Grower Balveer Verma alias Bittu is the richest one with a net worth of around Rs 125 crore who is in fray on ruling BJP ticket from Chopal. Among total 740 candidate who have filed the nominations for Assembly poll Verma is wealthiest.

The other billionaires include heirs of family dynastic is first timer Raghubir Singh Bali, son of former minister GS Bali and Congress candidate from Nagrota, is second wealthiest and 2nd timers Vikramaditya Singh, son of six-time chief minister Virbhadra Singh, is in third place. Congress candidate Rajneesh Kimta from Chopal is also in the fray for first time is fourth wealthiest candidate and Ashish Butail, son of former Assembly Speaker BBL Butail, is at number five from Palampur fighting for second term on Congress ticket.

The analyses of affidavit submitted by Balveer Verma declared moveable assests including many luxury vehicles. Verma has disclosed wealth of worth 125 crores as he has movable assets of 4.31 Cr (43020083) and immovable assets of 121.40 Cr (12140,00000). Mr Verma is self made person as he earned most of wealth by self income and only owns ancestral assets worth 18 Cr . He is the owner of many luxury vehicles including Mercedes Benz, a BMW, a Range Rover and a Jeep. Raghubir Bali showed total assets of Rs 104 Cr.who owns movable assest of 13.07 Cr. (130696393) his wife 1.58 Cr (15721767) and child has movable property of 26.09 lakh (2608882) . They also have a total of six vehicles including Honda Splendor and Mercedes. Son of former chief minister Virbhadra Singh Vikramaditya owns total assets of Rs 102 Cr (1013961042) including immovable assests of Rs 90.34 Cr ( 903391586) and movable assets of 6.97 Cr ( 69735691 ) in his name , 4.08 crores ( 40833765 ) movable assets owned by his family .

Vikramaditya Singh own a Fortuner car worth 28 lakhs, Ford Endeavor worth 30 lakhs and Nexa car worth 5.20 lakhs. Interestingly, Mr Singh solomnised his marriage with scion of Mayward royal dynasty Rajkumari Sudershan Devi in March 2019, has not revealed her net worth and shows unknown in the four sets of affidavit.. Rajneesh Kimta who declared net worth of 31.25 Cr. Kimta has movable assets worth 37,89,297 and immovable assets 2,99,48,558, his spouse owns assest worth 2,31,59,261 and children 30,00,000. He has 10.72 lakhs Honda City, 50 lakhs Key Fortuner, 80 lakh Mercedes, 25 lakh JCB, 30 lakh Innova car. He has 25 lakh gold in his name and his wife own 65 lakh jewellery. Ashish Butail owns total assets of Rs 30,25,22,481 including movable assets of Rs 69,19,157 and immovable property 62,69,184, his wife has Rs 16,61,5251 and child 10,24,751. He owns 27,04,41,759 ancestral property. He owns Thar, Fortuner, Innova Vehicle and two Scooty.
