Covid-19: Total number of active cases in Assam touches 847

Guwahati: Total number of active cases in Assam has reached 847, with 195 new cases reported in the last twenty-four hours.

However, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Thursday said that there is no possibility of the lockdown or night curfew in the state.

“There is no possibility of lockdown or night curfew in Assam. I request everyone to get themselves tested if they have symptoms. There is no need to panic but we should remain alert,” Mr Himanta Biswa Sarma said here.

Mr Sarma said that the screening of Covid 19 has increased in Assam,”1 lakh COVID-19 tests are to be conducted in the next seven days, so that Bihu can be celebrated properly, we have to celebrate Bihu. Our healthline workers are all vaccinated and due to more tests, more coronavirus numbers will come up, there is no need to panic but people must be alert,” Mr Sarma said addressing a press meet.

Meanwhile, the cumulative total number of beneficiaries who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Assam to date is 11,30,808.

Whereas, the cumulative total number of beneficiaries who have received the second dose of the vaccine is 2,03,263.
