COVID-19: India records 11,271 new cases

The recovery rate stands at 98.26 per cent, the highest since March last year.

New Delhi: A total of 11,271 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in India during the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Sunday.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the latest addition has pushed the country’s caseload to 3,44,37,307 while the death toll rose to 46,3530 as 285 more patients succumbed to the virus.

On a positive note, 11,376 more people have recovered from the disease during the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,38,37,859.

The recovery rate stands at 98.26 per cent, the highest since March last year.

The active caseload now stands at 1,35,918, less than one per cent of the total cases, the figures showed.

As per the bulletin, 62.37 crore tests for Covid-19 have been conducted so far.

Meanwhile, India has administered 112.01 crore doses of the Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
