Covid-19: 80 teachers sent into home isolation in Himachal Pradesh

This step has been taken as a precautionary measure and teachers have been asked to report on duty only on Monday at their respective institutions so that they might not spread the virus to others especially the children.

Hamirpur (HP): The dreaded COVID-19 is spreading fast in the district of Hamirpur and eighty teachers that took part in a training camp at DIET ( District Institute of Educational and Training center), Gauna have been sent to Home isolation following the detection of one Covid case among them.

This step has been taken as a precautionary measure and teachers have been asked to report on duty only on Monday at their respective institutions so that they might not spread the virus to others especially the children.

It’s worth mentioning here that eighteen new cases had been reported in the district last night and the total number of active cases had risen to 92 out of 3,202 total number of positive cases found in the district till date. Forty-nine people of the district had lost their lives due to the dreaded virus and the number of cured cases now stood at 3,060

An official spokesman said today that while eighty-five people were under Home isolation, seven others were getting treatment at two different COVID care centers of the district.

The detection of the new positive cases has created a sense of insecurity and the district administration has resorted to mass sampling as per the orders of the state government.

As many as 471 samples were tested against COVID-19 on Tuesday out of which eighteen were found positive and the number of new cases was found was a matter of great concern for all.

Surprisingly, the new cases that have come to the fore included children, young people and women in large numbers and to manage them is not so easy, says one of the Medical experts of the local Medical College.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner, Debasweta Banik has instructed the SDM’s concerned of the district to visit the congested markets along with the police people and ensure that people were wearing face masks and were observing the COVID-19 guidelines like maintaining social distances in the bazaars, shops and malls.

She has also issued strict instructions for challaning all such shops that were not observing the COVID-19 guidelines.

On other hand, the Department of police on its own has also launched a massive campaign to challan all such people who were venturing out without masks and were not observing the COVID-19 guidelines as it was the police that was to take the cognizance of all such cases/crimes as per the orders of the central/state governments both.
