Imphal: Colonel A Rajiv of the Army Education Corps assumed the role of Principal at the esteemed Sainik School Imphal on October 17, 2024.
With nearly three decades of experience, Col Rajiv has an accomplished background in education, having served in various instructional and administrative roles within the Indian Army.

He previously served as registrar at Sainik School Balachari in Jamnagar, Gujarat, and as Principal at Sainik School Kazhakootam, Kerala, where he was once a cadet. Col Rajiv also served as an Infantry Company Commander in the Drass Sector during the Kargil War of 1999 with the Naga Regiment.
After taking on his new responsibilities, Col Rajiv met with Manipur’s Education Minister Th Basantakumar Singh. He highlighted the school’s recent accomplishments, including the success of 14 cadets who cleared the written National Defence Academy exam, conducted by the UPSC.
Col Rajiv also discussed areas requiring improvement at the school, and the Minister assured him of taking necessary steps to enhance facilities, promote academic excellence, and support holistic development.
