Imphal: Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh attended the 26th Meritorious Award Distribution Ceremony for Class X and XII students held at Ngakraba Mandap, Singjamei Chinga Mathak, Imphal, today.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister encouraged the students to work hard and remain dedicated in their pursuit of success. He emphasized that the meaningful and productive utilisation of time is a key habit that enables students to achieve success in their lives.

Highlighting the realities of a modern globalised world, the Chief Minister stated that it is important for students to focus not only on academics but also to actively participate in skill development programmes. He further stressed the need for students to remain well-informed and maintain a keen awareness of the day-to-day happenings in our society.

Yumnam Khemchand Singh appealed to the people of Manipur to encourage dialogue and discussions in resolving issues pertaining to the State, rather than resorting to road blockades and bandhs.

He added, it directly affects the lives of the daily wage earners and the educational institutions of the State.

The awards being distributed are for the academic session 2025-2026, for the students who have cleared their board exams in 1st Division namely-Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) and Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COSEM).

The function organised by the Ngakraba Leirak Development Association (NG.L.D.A) was attended by the Members and Senior Members of the (NG.L.D.A), students and parents among others.
