CM Biren, Minister Biswajit pay homage to Lamyanba Irawat

On this occasion, Biswajit called on all to “remember the values of our great leader and follow his ideals in bringing a peaceful and united Manipur”.

Imphal: Chief Minister N Biren extended warm greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irawat which falls on September 30.

In his message, Biren Singh said, “Hijam Irawat was a renowned freedom fighter, social reformer, socio-economic activist to the core. His role in the 2nd Nupi Lan of 1939 against the British colonial forces will always be remembered”.

Terming Lamyanba Irawat as a multi-faceted personality, Biren said, he will always be remembered for his immense contributions in the field of literature, sports, journalism and arts and culture.

On the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Lamyanba Irawat, Chief Minister Biren paid his homage and deepest regard to the selfless leader.

IPR Minister Th Biswajit also paid his homage to Lamyanba Irawat on his 123rd birth anniversary. Calling Lamyanba Irawat a towering figure and a multi-faceted personality, said,” he was a true leader who worked selflessly for the people”.
