Churachandpur: District Administration Churachandpur feted women entrepreneurs of the district under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme in a solemn programme Saturday at DTC Hall, DC Office here.
In all, five women entrepreneurs, Boinu Nienghelam of Bijang Gangte Veng; Jesse D of Singhat; L. Florence of Bijang Family Lane; Siandeihniang of Zomi Colony and S. Chongboi Haokip of Koite Village were felicitated in the programme.
Speaking as the chief guest of the programme, SP Churachandpur, Amrita Sinha stated that the programme is aimed towards recognizing the efforts, skills and the risk-taking ability of women in the society.
“Entrepreneurship requires physical, mental, emotional strength, stability to take forward business and the ability to handle the economic risks that are associated with entrepreneurship,” said Sinha. She pointed out that Entrepreneurs contributes positively to sustainable development and growth of the society. Entrepreneurs must have the ability to mobilize resources and innate dealership quality, liaisoning ability and bring these altogether brought into a common platform.
Pawan Yadav, DC Churachandpur stated that ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ is a unique programme and the district administration has recognized successful women entrepreneurs and encouraged them to further promote their business.
He also announced that in connection with the International Women’s Day on March 8, Loan Mela would be organised for women vendors under PM SVANidhi and various banks counter would be open. He also informed that a resource person from Startup Manipur (Planning Department) will be giving input on how to become a successful entrepreneur and an awareness programme on various schemes of MSME will will also be conducted on March 9.
Mother-daughter selfie contest and short film contest (video clip of 3-4 minutes) has been announced and the award will be given on March 8, 2021, added the DC.
Amongst other dignitaries attending the programme included Officer from 2nd AR Singngat; Thangboi Gangte, ADC I DC Office Churachandpur and S Khaikhopau Ngaihte, ADC II, DC Office Churachandpur.
