Srinagar: Alleging that the ‘centre continues to disempower people of J&K in the grab of pseudo nationalism by trampling the constitution that ought to be upheld’, former chief minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday said that abrupt dismissal of 11 government employees on ‘flimsy grounds is criminal’.

Mehbooba, who is also the vice-chairperson of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), further alleged that all policy decisions vis-a-vis J&K are taken with sole objective of punishing Kashmiris.

“GOI continues disempowering people of J&K in garb of pseudo nationalism by trampling the constitution that ought to be upheld. Abrupt dismissal of 11 gov employees on flimsy grounds is criminal. All policy decisions vis a vis J&K are taken with sole objective of punishing Kashmiris,” Ms Mehbooba wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

As many as 11 government employees from Kashmir, including two sons of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) chief Syed Salahuddin, were sacked for their alleged involvement in terror-funding activities. The services of these employees were terminated under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution, under which no inquiry is held. The action was taken following a recommendation by a designated committee in the Union Territory for looking into such cases.
